At Groundwork Construction Cleaning, we have been carrying out post-construction cleaning for over twenty years. Our well-trained staff take pride in their work and pay attention to detail to ensure we can do a quality job.

However, when it comes to new construction cleaning, there are a ton of questions clients have but often find answers difficult to come by.

Therefore, we want to arm you with the most accurate information available to help you make informed decisions and give you peace of mind. To do this, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our new construction cleaning services.

1. How much do you charge?

Some clients we have had for years or decades trust us to charge fairly on an hourly basis of $40 per hour for glass cleaning and $32 per hour for non-glass cleaning. New and potential clients want a fixed quotation. So we give them a “ballpark” price based on the average of past jobs of the same size as the one they have in mind.

If that price is close to the budget they had in mind, then we would visit the job site and work out how much time is required to do a good job, then multiply time by our hourly rate.

If they find the quote is a bit over budget, we pledge to discount the final bill if it would be cheaper based on charging hourly. Sometimes we discount this way voluntarily if it turns out the profit % on the job is very high over our 30% target. It helps build trust and a good reputation.

2. When can you do the job?

Good service on this point is not about a good day for us. It’s about getting the cleaning complete on the exact day or hour before the moving truck arrives.

These jobs are on such tight schedules that the trades are still working after moving in. So every day or hour that a tradesman comes after our cleaning, they have more potential to undo our best efforts and make the homeowner feel that they have received poor service.

We ask them if they have a firm move-in date or a target move-in date, and we schedule it to that date. We also ask them to contact us if the move-in date changes (it often does).

3. How long will it take?

That depends on the size of the house and other jobs scheduled for the same date. We have enough employees to do large houses in one day if it was our only job. Frequently, we have overlapping jobs, so we would start a day or so early and have less work to do on the last day. It would get coordinated with the general contractor or site foreman.
